Welcome to the Texas Dietetic Association (TDA) website. TDA is an organization of over 3,000 registered dietitians, dietetic technicians, and dietetic students in Texas.
TDA members provide expert food and nutrition resources for Texans. They are here to help Texans improve and manage their health—and make eating an enjoyable and delicious experience.
The TDA website has many valuable offerings for both TDA associates and members of the public interested in improving their health. The following information will help you start navigating the site.

Why TDA Website Redesign
TDA conducted "town hall" meetings throughout the state in 2003 and 2004 to find out exactly what TDA members throughout Texas liked about the organization, services they wanted more of, and what they wanted to see added as member benefits.
TDA member feedback and suggestions made it clear members desired features in the web site that would require a redesign. In autumn 2004, the TDA Redesign Committee was formed. The committee spent months looking at the town hall meeting feedback, web site log files, and other association web sites outside of dietetics to see what features could be adopted for TDA members.
The new site design captures a contemporary, upbeat feel. The committee labored to bring a cutting-edge design together with easy to find (and use) site features. The web development team also worked hard to give standardization to the site through browser and HTML validation. See browser and viewing specifications.
Most pictures on the site were taken specifically for the site. Most models are registered dietitians or dietetic students.
The committee's hope is you find the site easy to navigate and discover new, useful resources. We realize that to keep up with members' needs the site will need to be flexible and adaptable. There are many plans already in motion for the site's expansion in the near future. Please send us feedback if you have ideas or want to get involved.

The top TDA site offering is job opportunities. Employers can now submit their job posting, description, and payment online.
A new site offering is district news. Browse this area to see what districts throughout the state will be doing and offering in coming months.
Find out how fellow TDA members benefit from TDA. They reveal what about being an active TDA member helps them most.

Don't miss browsing the list of TDA members that made the media, or the long list of members' awards and achievements. If you know of any not listed, please let us know.
We have some listings under Meetings and CPEs. This is a feature members requested at the Town Meetings TDA conducted in 2004. We would like to post even more listings, so please contact us with contributions. This is a new offering on the site so specifics on listings are being worked out. Listings may be subject to a fee for posting depending upon the nature of the offering.
For members only, we will have exclusive TDA Today content that can be found on the posted table of contents for the TDA Today newsletter. Watch for it after the next newsletter arrives end of September.
We are still gathering together content for an innovative students area. Sections include career Q&As, dietetic internship FAQs, and novel career ideas. If you want to become involved in this awesome offering for students, please contact us.
Also coming in the near future is a speakers bureau. This will help organizations throughout the state connect with TDA nutrition speakers.
Consumers: What is Here for YOU
Finding a Nutrition Professional
First, check if your local district association has a website. Many local districts have referral services. If not, the president can help you find other resources.
Nutrition Education Resources
The TDA website has a long list of outstanding nutrition education resources on a variety of topics. These resources are not meant as a replacement for a health professional. Please seek the advice of a registered dietitian or your physician if you have questions.
Nutrition Speaker
This site will soon offer a speakers bureau that will match organizations throughout the state with experienced TDA nutrition speakers.
Suggestions and Feedback
The team of web development professionals and the TDA Redesign Committee worked many hours to create a site that would present valuable services yet still be easy to navigate.
We realize that there may be items we overlooked. We welcome your suggestions. If you find a broken link, have a recommendation for a future offering, or want to share suggestions on how to expand on something we currently have on the site, please contact us.
